Steve Powell, M.A., LMFT
Steve grew up in Florida and California. He received his B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Arizona and completed a Master of Arts in Theology, with a specialization in marriage, family and child counseling, from Fuller Theological Seminary. Steve practiced as a licensed M.F.C.C. in California before moving to Silverdale in 1985.
Steve is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington state. He is also a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and has been in the field of psychotherapy and substance abuse since 1983. Steve specializes in the treatment of relationship distress, painful family patterns, addictions and codependency, adolescent problems, and intimacy struggles. His methodologies include Systems Therapy, Gestalt Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Lifespan Integration. Steve also provides a full range of mental health counseling for treatment and prevention of continuing emotional, mental and physical distresses. He also has specialized in work with men, having co-facilitated a men’s therapy group for the last 27 years.
